Kramer Group profiteert slim van drukte in containerhaven

Kramer Group met container terminals op Maasvlakte en op de City terminal draait een topjaar. Het Rotterdamse op- en overslagbedrijf voor shortsea, feeders en binnenvaart heeft dit jaar nu al meer dan 900.000 moves (containerverplaatsingen) behandeld. Dat waren er in 2010 nog maar 300.000. Het oude record dateert uit 2017: 750.000 moves.

De opzienbarende groei is niet alleen te danken aan de recordoverslag in de Rotterdamse containerhaven maar vooral door het slim inspelen van Kramer op de drukte. Onder de concepten Barge Service Center en Feeder Service Center biedt het operators en terminals de mogelijkheid om de drukte op en om de terminals te ontlopen of te verminderen. 
Dat doet het door voor de grote container terminals bestemde ‘deepsea-containers’ alvast op de nabij aan de Amazonehaven gelegen Rotterdam Container Terminal lossen en ze vanaf daar met de vrachtwagen naar de nabij gelegen terminals te laten transporteren. Op deze manier omzeilen ze de drukke kades en dus wachttijden.

Commercieel directeur Ted Holleman: ‘Enkele jaren geleden hebben we deze concepten in de markt gezet. We bieden op deze manier een alternatief aan de binnenvaart als er sprake is van congestie. Ook terminals maken graag gebruik van onze diensten om de kades te ontlasten. Zo hebben we met de op Maasvlakte 2 gelegen container terminal RWG vaste afspraken over de afhandeling van een flink aantal binnenvaartcontainers per maand.” Voor de kustvaart geldt in principe hetzelfde via het Feeder Service Center. “Toch maakt die hier minder gebruik van. Het gaat dan vooral om Noorse reefercontainers met vis. De feeders lossen die bij RCT op de Maasvlakte en vervolgens worden op hetzelfde schip weer lege reefers (koelcontainers) meegenomen”, legt Holleman uit.

Kramer Group is heel blij met het resultaat maar nu de 1.000.000 moves nabij is, gaat het bedrijf graag de uitdaging aan om die grens binnen niet al te lange tijd te doorbreken.

The acquisition of Kramer Group represents an important milestone in the expansion of QTerminals, as the Port of Rotterdam is the largest port in Europe and is a significant addition to QTerminals Group’s record of success in diversifying its operations. In addition, this acquisition further reinforces QTerminals Group’s commitment to contribute towards Qatar National Vision 2030 which aims for the diversification of the national economy and foreign investments.
