Rotterdam Container Terminal offers more
Opened in 2007, the Rotterdam Container Terminal (RCT) is the new state-of-the-art alternative for efficiently unloading and loading feeders, shortsea vessels and inland barges round the clock. Customers are assured of optimal service levels and flexibility at competitive tariffs.
At the heart of Rotterdam’s container handling
RCT is situated at the Maasvlakte, directly on the North Sea. With a quay that spans 400 metres and a water depth of 10 metres, feeders, shortsea vessels and inland barges can call at RCT under all circumstances. Internal lanes directly connect RCT with the large deep-sea terminals of ECT and APMT, the rail terminals, the customs scan and the Distripark at the Maasvlakte. Using own Multi Trailer Systems, containers can always be quickly moved to their right destination.
Efficient and reliable
RCT’s well-trained staff and the state-of-the-art equipment ensure an optimal performance with fast turnaround times. Efficiency and flexibility go hand in hand. RCT is able to meet any customer demand. Through the Internet, each container movement can be monitored by the customer in real-time and EDI-based data exchange is a standard feature. Of course, RCT is fully ISPS and AEO-certified.
RCT is a true multi-modal hub. The terminal boasts optimum accessibility on both the seaside and the landside. The automatic gate means trucks are in and out of RCT within 15 minutes. The three own 300-metre-long rail tracks provide a direct link to the Betuweroute, the dedicated cargo railway line that connects Rotterdam with Germany. Additional services for empty containers are available from the adjacent Kramer Delta Depot.
